This eclectic program begins with composition competition winner Benjamin Koller’s compelling new work Assembly. We also feature the world premiere of the wind ensemble version of Lili Boulanger’s D’un soir triste, transcribed by DMA Conducting Student Jack Hontz. Legendary Saxophone soloist and Frost’s Professor of Saxophone Dale Underwood performs Pulitzer prize-winning composer Karel Husa’s fabulous Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Concert Band. We conclude the program with Florent Schmitt’s tour de force work Dionysiaques – imagine Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice on steroids!
